Curtis Plotkin

Assistant Vice Chancellor of EH&S, UCLA

Curtis Plotkin has worked promoting the protection of human health and the environment for over 30 years in private, government and higher education. He joined UCLA Environment, Health and Safety as the Assistant Vice Chancellor on August 01, 2022. Prior to serving UCLA, Curtis was the Director of Environmental Health and Safety for UC Davis. There he championed a number of innovative projects and led a Team of 5 managers and 37 professionals in the areas of:

  • Laboratory and Field Safety
  • Biological and Radiation Safety
  • Industrial Hygiene and Shop Safety
  • Air, Stormwater, Soil and landfill Compliance
  • Food and Pool Safety
  • Hazardous Waste Managemen, and
  • Remediation of the LEHR Superfund Site
