Monica is a Ph.D. Candidate in Chemistry (Chemical Biology and Chemistry Education). As a chemical biologist, Monica designs fluorescent molecular probes for targeting and learning more about glucose transporters (GLUTs). As a chemistry education researcher, Monica is interested in exploring the different approaches to building capacity for graduate and undergraduates in chemical safety education. She is passionate about supporting and promoting student-led safety initiatives and has experience in leading diverse teams to accomplish goal-driven tasks as evidenced by the successful completion of 4 ACS CHAS peer-led LST workshops.
